A major task of a philosopher is to engage in rational enquiry in order to arrive ta plausible truth about a phenomenon. They focused majorly on the existential questions about human condition and tried to find remedies to the problems by way of suggesting certain prescriptive formulas. A lot many of the philosophers deliberate upon the existing conditions of society putting forth their views on what ‘ought’ to be, while some have an inkling of what is to emerge in the future and hence suggest propositions which may be applicable in the future.
